Question: If we had contact from Extraterrestrials through radio contact (SETI project), how would our culture change?

Answer:

Everything. If they are willing to help us out, (because im sure they are having a ball watch us slowly destroy ourselves) we could advance in technology by a BILLION x BILLION.

ORIGINAL AUDIO IS BACK! Let’s Hit that half million – Spread the word. Like? Comment? Subscribe? Check it out…… the official introduction to Area 51….. A high-flying 5’8″ dunker from Melbourne – Australia, proving limitation has no limits. Some of you may already know him as Chand, having dunked his way to the And1 Mix Tape tour game in Melbourne, or for throwing down windmills at the local stadium MSAC. MSF has given him the new name; AREA 51. Known as the ‘no-go zone’ in the US for it’s unexplained phenomena. 51 also represents his running vertical, 51 inches. Chand is without question, one of the best dunkers to ever do it in Australia, on this part of the planet. Until proven otherwise. And through TFB(Team Flight Brothers), Chand has established himself as one of the best dunkers under 5’8″ in the world today. Be sure to post your comments and support. This is me playing Perfect Dark on the Nintendo 64. I’m playing the Area 51 2 level on Perfect Agent to get the level cheat. If you don’t know what that means, it means that you have to play through a level on a certain difficulty level in a specified amount of time. If you do this, you will earn the level’s cheat code. This cheat is very annoying. The time limit is pretty lienent, but the fact you need to know where every enemy is so you don’t get gunned in the back is what makes it a hassle. You can do the beginning two different ways. The Dragon proxy mine trick, or the Phoenix trick. I choose the Phoenix trick, since it’s a nice gun (though I hate aiming with it). Required Time: 7:59 My Time: 6:57 Note: This is by no means a world record attempt. The speed runs are speed runs for getting the cheats, and that’s it. I only did it until I got the cheat, I didn’t re-do them to get my best time, as you can tell by watching the end screen where it says I earned two cheats (one for beating the level, another for earning the time cheat). If you feel the need to say you could do better, feel free to upload your own video, otherwise don’t comment.

Question: Since SETI has found no EM transmissions from outer space, could there be Intelligent life out there?
SETI is a program to use large satellite-type dishes in Puerto Rico to pick up transmissions from extra-terrestrial intelligence beyond our solar system. To date, no announcement has been made that we have found any such aliens; assuming the government is not lying to us. If this is the case, how likely do you think it is that there is intelligent life out there? (If they lived even more than 100 light years away, if we got a transmission today, it would be 100 years old.) Furthermore, considering Einsteinian physics that claim conventional space travel at 186,000 mps would explode your mass and your reference of time would be vastly different from someone moving slower — do you think it’s even possible to traverse 100 light years?
In addition, I would ask how much space we have checked percentage wise, and how many years it would take to check all of space.
By the way, I’m not talking about -life- in general, like microbes and insects; I’m talking about INTELLIGENT life, akin to humans with brains that think and create radio communications.

Another question — if I’m 100 miles away from my favorite FM radio station, I get no signal. What causes communications to lose their strength? And would this factor into the problem of getting transmissions from these intelligent beings?

Hey, there’s a LOT of space out there! I don’t think we’ve even checked a remote fraction of it. And, as you note, signals only travel 186K mph, so they may not have got here yet, even if we were looking in the right place. There are just too many possible life-sustaining planets out there to imagine that we are really all alone.

Question: About how long did it take for the famous 1977 “WOW!” SETI signal to reach Earth from the origin point?
Roughly 2.5 degrees south of Chi Sagittarii. Don’t know the “Z” axis.
Roughly 2.5 degrees south of Chi Sagittarii. Come on, guys. That’s good enough for “X” and “Y”. And I bloody well know that I need a “Z”, but I don’t have it. Help!

That depends on how far away it came from. The coordinate you gave is only one coordinate; we need three to define a position in space.

Question: SETI (the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) searches for communications from life in planets and moon?
a)around nearby stars.
b)in globular clusters.
c)toward the center of the Milky Way.

Answer:

Answer by suitti
a

Globular clusters typically have lots of stars, but they don’t have the heavier elements needed to make rocky planets like Earth.

The center of the Milky Way tends to have huge amounts of radiation, not thought to be good for life.

You want nearby stars, because signals fade with distance. It’s harder to detect signals that are farther away.

it is mostly a matter of personal preference you are certainly sitting far enough away for the larger screens If you go DLP I would look at the 72 inch the cost is not much different
