If you thought UFO sightings only belonged in science fiction movies and late night TV, and that believers existed on the fringe of society, think again. It is a little known fact that for over thirty years UFO investigations and contact with ETs have been debated even in our respected US courtrooms.
Peter Gersten, AKA the UFO lawyer, is a maverick who for the last twenty years has been blazing a trail for those who have experienced frightening and unexplainable events, by giving them a voice in a society where they have been previously shunned. The founding director of CAUS (Citizens Against UFO Secrecy), Gersten is opposed to keeping UFO information from the American public. Lacking the sensationalism of other publicized court cases, the success of CAUS is not generally known, except among UFO researchers. It may come as a surprise to know that Gersten, representing Ground Saucer Watch, won his first UFO-related case in 1977 against the CIA, which resulted in the release of over 900 pages of UFO-related documents. Even more interesting is the fact that 57 documents were allowed to be withheld, claiming national security considerations. Since that day, Gersten has challenged this claim, forming CAUS and bringing even more relevant issues into the spotlight by bringing them into the courtroom.
CAUS is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the secrecy that is associated with UFO and ET contact. Targeted projects include the release of information from the government, the investigation into UFO phenomenon and the appropriate collection and dispersal of information. Gersten and the people involved in CAUS are so dedicated that services are offered pro bono to eye witnesses or individuals who possess physical or other genuine evidence. As would be expected in any lawyer-client relationship, confidentiality is guaranteed. One might ask how someone becomes a UFO lawyer. Not surprisingly, there is no field specific to this practice. Before he became the UFO lawyer, he practiced criminal law in New York for 25 years. He now practices law in Arizona, where he currently is a trial attorney with the Navajo County Public Defenders Office. Maybe in the near to distant future, as more information is released and the public becomes more aware of UFO phenomenon, there will be a greater call for lawyers in this field, and firms may be established for that end. Until then, interested persons would certainly be wise to study science and technology, as well as the traditional courses required for a JD.

Everyone knows just how secretive film studios can be with their properties. They usually just release a still photo of filming, or a shot out of the movie and call it a teaser poster and then give a very vague description of the plot.
Then, within four months of release time (perhaps even longer), they release a full length trailer and by then so many websites have spoiled the movie for everyone that people only see it to know whether or not it lives up to the hype. In early 2007, J.J. Abrams, creator of the hit television program Alias, announced that he was working on a new movie. Some people thought they were alluding to some mega computer virus. Of course we use Web Watcher to keep our servers safe, and a webwatcher discount code to save money. People think computers are still the end of the world, like they did back when Orwell did 1984.
And that is all that was revealed. At the time it seemed like no big deal. Just a project that would probably be announced in a week or so. But, no announcement came. Here and there people were reporting that casting was underway for the new film. But no one knew what it was.
There were no script leaks, plot speculations or anything. The only thing anyone was capable to find out, and even then it was heavily unconfirmed, was that a possible false title that it would film under was Cloverfield. In the summer of that same year, in the previews of the movie Transformers, a very interesting movie trailer was shown before the beginning of the movie. The trailer consisted of an apartment party where a person is walking around with a video camera.
Suddenly the very loud sound of an animal war is heard and the apartment begins to shake. The partygoers run outside and see a large explosion followed by part of the Statue of Liberty being thrown at the partygoers. From there the trailer ended with no title. Only the Bad Robot studio logo was present. The Cloverfield phenomenon was officially underway.
J.J. Abrams finally came forward and told that the movie would be a monster movie unlike anything the world has seen. When asked why he chose to work on a monster movie his response was that he had taken a trip to Japan and walked into a toy store with his son. He looked around the store and noticed that the majority of toys were Godzilla related.
To which he added that he felt it was time that there was an American equivalent to Godzilla. Now, with less than three months until the much publicized release date, we know little more now then we did at the beginning. This has led many to wonder whether or not this is a healthy marketing campaign, seeing as how a large portion of the film’s awareness was spread through word of mouth. However, producers are confident that it is the same word of mouth that will make the movie a rousing success.

Question: Samsung/Panasonic Plasma vs LG LCD?
I purchased a Samsung 50″ 1080p Plasma from Best Buy last year and it was amazing. I have a low lit basement and the picture quality was stunning. Unfortunately, I had a area that dimmed on the screen and best buy is unable to get the part, so now its time for a “Comparable Replacement”.
They gave me the following two options:

The LG is a lot more expensive and I love the increase in size, but it’s LCD. I’ve heard great things about Panasonics Plasma’s but I really hate the look of the border (I know that’s a really weird thing to take into account but it looks cheap). My old Sammy had the awesome glass border with uniform edge and looked beautiful on my wall.
We require a wide viewing angle as the seating is pretty close to the tv and extends to all angles. I know LCDs angles are not as good so this may be an issue. I also loved the true blacks and non “blockiness” of my Samsung Plasma during fast movements. Is the LCD technology better now that this is a non issue? It’s so hard to compare picture quality in the stores.
If I weren’t to go with either, I would get an $ 800 credit to apply to a different tv since the Panasonic’s more comparable to the Samsung. I could get a Samsung 51″ Plasma http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+-+51%26%2334%3B+Class+/+Plasma+/+1080p+/+600Hz+/+HDTV/2584325.p?id=1218337329459&skuId=2584325 for that price, but it only has 2 HDMI connections which is a huge drawback since I currently have 4.

Since you previously owned a plasma and loved it, I think moving to an LCD will not be a good choice. You will most likely notice every ghosting and judder effect when looking at the inferior technology of LCD sets. Viewing angle is still a problem with LCD, as well as fast motion.
Panasonic is the current leader in the plasma pack, with near flawless fast motion pictures, unsurpassed picture response time, and best levels of black performance. I think you will be happier with the Panasonic plasma even despite it’s lame border (yes I agree they don’t look as sleek and sophisticated). You will probably end up totally ignoring it once you see the HD picture and incredible motion tracking.
